Wittman's 2025 In Review
Republican's 2025 policy failures, and how they impacted VA-01
Wittman has sent out another survey, as he wants to know what he should prioritize for 2026. We’ve looked at what he delivered to VA-01 in 2025, and here are the results. Our recommendation for Rob’s New Year resolution:
“I will not be such a useless, performative patsy!”
😲 Tariffs
These cost the average VA household approximately $1,700-$2,100 this year in higher prices for cars, electronics & clothes.
Retaliatory tariffs also slowed traffic at the Port of Virginia.
😷 Healthcare
Cuts to ACA subsidies & Medicaid hit hard.
A 55-year-old Virginian earning $63k saw premiums jump $2,400/year.
300k+ of us are at risk of losing coverage entirely due to funding caps.
🪫Energy
“Drill Baby Drill” policies stabilized coal in SW VA, created no new jobs, and didn’t lower energy prices.
But ending green energy credits raised average electricity bills by ~$110/yr and threatens 11,000 VA jobs.
Gas prices remain volatile and barely lower.
🪖 Military
Hegseth and others are ordering troops to commit war crimes in our name.
Trump’s pledge of $1,776 “tariff money” to service members was a lie; it was money they were going to get for housing anyway.
Wittman - Vice Chair of the House Armed Services Committee - has said nothing.
🪙 Taxes
Eliminating taxes on tips & overtime is good - but they’re temporary tax cuts, ending in 2028.
And expiration of Child Tax Credits & SALT caps wipe out these gains for many families.
Virginia is going backwards…and Wittman thinks that’s just fine
2025 was a year of contraction and adjustment for most VA households, and 2026 isn’t looking any better. Our state GDP was just 1.7% (Youngkin totally failed to protect us, btw!), and HR1 will mean that state government has to spend more just for us to stand still.
The billionaires had a great 2025 but for the rest of us, costs continue rising and Wittman is focused on deceiving us rather than helping us. Do better, Rob!
Change is coming in 2026…
